TEN FENG SHUI TIPS FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE HOLIDAYS

We are in the joyous season of friendship, celebration when many friends and neighbours, along with family, will be gracing your doors and enjoying time with you. To make sure that the Qi energy is positive, and that you are protected from accident and illness, here are ten easy quick tips of Feng Shui to accomplish this.

TEN EASY TIPS

  1. Brighten the outdoors with three radiant spot lights pointing towards the front door. Hang white lights around the edge of the outside of the front door. Place a large red poinsettia with gold foil on either side of the front door. This attracts positive Qi, good will and vitality into your home. It’s most welcoming for all who come.
  2. Place a colourful water fountain inside the right entrance of the front door. Make sure the sound is audible and that there are auspicious figures like a dragon, a dragon horse, a 3-foot toad with it.
  3. Place 3 or 5 life-giving white or red poinsettias inside on tables and bureaus.
  4. For the pleasant, memory-invoking smell, simmer cinnamon sticks on the stovetop with or without apple cider.
  5. Place small Swarowski crystals on the Christmas tree, in boughs on the mantel or window sills, and also one on the outside front door wreath. Cedar is best for wreaths as it has the life-giving Qi and has sweet smells.
  6. Colours of red, gold and green can be used throughout your home: as cushions, throws, rugs, table runners, placemats and napkins.
  7. Christmas tree lights can also be clear, white, red, gold and green.
  8. Place your furniture so that people can talk together in groups of twos and threes and feel welcomed.
  9. Leave lots of food out on the sideboard, dining table, kitchen counters so that people can feel the joy of your sharing and help themselves.
  10. Pleasant, classical music such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Cantatas, Haydn and Mozart symphonies, at a low decibel, add wonderful charm to your gatherings.
