CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY DÉCOR WITH FENG SHUI: WHAT COLOUR SHOULD I USE?

While the combination of red and green is the traditional colour combination for Christmas. Green is the Wood element for growth, new life at the winter solstice, and red is the element of fire, also related to this time of year and rebirth of the lengthening light.

There is another popular colour combination for Christmas that is soothing, relaxing and also invigorating in a balanced way.

White or Silver-Gray and Blue are becoming very popular for Christmas décor. In terms of Feng Shui, these colours create a soothing, calming energy, bringing calm and peace in time of hustle and bustle.

White and Silver-Gray are the Metal element and Blue is the abundant, flowing, harmonious energy of Water.

These colours create a wonderful addition to the green of the Wood element, in particular the Christmas tree, holly or cedar wreaths, and mantel pieces. The Fire element is represented by the Christmas lights and candles. Adding the Earth element with pottery, brown and burnt sienna add a warming and grounding touch.

Sometimes, the presence of extended family over an emotionally charged holiday season can create friction and challenges. You might want to limit the amount of red colour in your decorations to minimize the presence of fiery emotions.

However, if you are a business entrepreneur, having red and the Fire element will boost your sales.

Merry Feng Shui Christmas to one and all.
