WHAT IT IS
Feng Shui is the ancient and 21st century science which derives from Vaastu Shastra and is at least 5,000 years old. It realigns the cosmic Qi or universal energy to flow in healing and harmonizing patterns through the human body and our living and working spaces. Feng means ‘wind’ and Shui means ‘water.’ Feng Shui directs patterns of the cosmic Qi, the 5 elements, the weather, the earth, sun, moon and stars, and transmutes and balances the various positive, dangerous and stale energies respectively known as Sheng, Sha and Ssu Qi.
Feng Shui is concerned with nature, its inherent energies and the universal web of life in which we are all connected. It is linked to Taoism, metaphysics, martial arts, exercise and most importantly house and garden design, construction and the flow of energies. Dangerous and stale energies can accumulate in people’s minds, feelings and physical bodies, and then be expanded into their physical spaces. Clutter starts in the mind and expresses itself in living and working spaces. Likewise, beauty, joy and serenity start in the mind and heart, and then can emanate outwards. As inside, so outside. This is the law of universal manifestation.
When Diagnoses are outlined, and Remedies implemented, most people feel a positive shift in energies, emotions and attitudes within a day or two, if not immediately.
HOW IT WORKS
Feng Shui works through Diagnoses and Treatments or Remedies for the ailing energies of land sites, houses, offices, buildings, rooms and gardens—and of course, individuals and pets. Dangerous Sha Qi can come from neighbouring buildings, directions, hydro wires, elements and topography. Stale or dead Ssu Qi can result from clutter, negative emotions, sickness, death, lack of lighting, old buildings, furniture misplacement, lack of colour, old habits and thinking, stress and depression.
Technology increasingly plays a deleterious role in Sha and Ssu Qi in the home and office. Negative EMFs (Electro-Magnetic Frequencies) are increasingly caused by rampant geological and technological changes, high voltage electrical towers and wires, polluted air, water and soil, and distressing human emotional energies within buildings. The harmful effects of human stress and the chaotic clutter of our spaces always require Feng Shui Remedies.
Just as humans need to be treated with medicines such as herbal, plant and food remedies; Acupuncture; Reiki; Chiropractic; Energy Medicine (including Naturopathic and Homeopathic), so too do buildings, rooms and landscape.
Recall how you feel when your spine is out of alignment; your physical energies are low; and your mental and emotional states are depressed and stressed. So too, on an on-going basis, your living and working spaces can be energetically misaligned, stressed and depressed. Houses as well as humans can have the SAD condition.
I will come to your space for the Initial Consultation and Diagnose and look at the directional alignment of the front façade and door of the house or office—whether East, South, West or North. Various directions are more auspicious for health, happiness, romance and prosperity. I will diagnose where the dangerous Sha Qi is coming from, whether roads, wires, points of buildings, traffic or topography, for instance. There may also be Sha Qi internal to the house that needs a Remedy. Commonly, Ssu or stale, dead Qi is in most rooms and spaces of homes, offices and gardens. As mentioned above, this needs to be diagnosed and Remedies prescribed. The Initial Consultation will outline the major challenges and the order in which the Treatments need to be given. As with medicine, Remedies are given in sequence, and not all at the same time. This is to ascertain the positive effect of each Remedy before instituting the next Treatment.
Remedies and cures include decluttering, storage, organization, lighting, colours, fabrics, paintings, prints, 5 element balance (of earth, water, fire, metal, wood), plants, aquaria, furniture placement, skylights, bagua mirrors, wind chimes, pets, topographical changes, ponds, outdoor shrubs and flowers, sound, incense, prayers, traditional Chinese coins, toads, dragons, horses and metal symbols, and much more.
Joseph will teach you to balance
yin and
yang energies by applying the powers of the five elements—fire, earth, metal, water, and wood—to create a stylish décor. You can harmonize your
qi or life energy with your living and working spaces. It’s easy to make decorating changes that you’ll love and feel comfortable with for years to come.

HISTORY AND THEORY
Vaastu Shastra derives from the Vedas of 6 - 8,000 years ago. The
Vaastu Shastra and Ayurveda (Hindu medicine) wisdom was taken by great teachers to China 5 – 6,000 years ago. Although the actual theory and Remedies vary greatly between the two systems, both agree that harmony and balance with Cosmic Prana or Qi are the foundation for these sciences.
There are many books on the various schools of Feng Shui, such as Form School, Compass School, Four Pillars, Black Hat, Flying Star and various others. You may want to read more on your own. As well, there are cultural variations around the world, including Tibet and the West. Since the introduction of Feng Shui worldwide in the 1980s, separate views have arisen.
Feng Shui derives its metaphysic from Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism in terms of the understanding of balance of yin (receiving) and yang (giving) energies, family harmony within the living spaces, and creating peace, tranquility and strength in your self and your environment.
TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY FENG SHUI
In the several decades I have been using Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine, along with
Vaastu Shastra and Feng Shui, much has been learned from each of the treatments. As a synthesist, I have taken the opportunity to amalgamate Theory and Practice from India, Tibet, China, the West and Canada in order to make the best possible Remedies. This has included incorporating aspects of our First Nations background in this field, with even greater success. Powerful changes in my clients and their spaces have also resulted by using mantras, prayers, mudras, yantras and deep intuition.
Twenty-first century Feng Shui is much more individualized than it used to be, in the manner in which I diagnose and treat.
I look forward to consulting with you and remedying all aspects of your life including romance, family, health, happiness, sanctuary, renovations and travel.
